The Zlin 50 LX is the last development of the 50 series and was constructed in 1991. The first prototype flew in June 1975 It is an all aluminum aircraft with a 300hp Lycoming engine with fully inverted fuel and oil systems and a great smoke systemThe airframe weights 642Kg and is cleared to operate in a +8 / -5 G envelope.

Stewart is a restorative dentist who has been in his Chichester practice since 1975. His home is situated 10 minutes from the dental practice / airfield / motor racing circuit and beach which facilitates almost instant access to these facets of his life. Stewart comments:- 

I learned to fly in 1980 and on gaining my PPL immediately learnt aerobatics. Following 8 years of competition aerobatics I developed into air show flying and gained my commercial display license in 1990. I have displayed in UK & France in a large selection of aircraft. I purchased my Zlin 50 LX in 2007 and have used it at weddings and Parties in Southern England & France . The DVD was compiled from footage recorded in 2007 and 2009 plus a clip from my Extra 300 in 2006

 I have recently discovered gliding which proves to be  one of the most interesting challenges for a pilot. It combines my knowledge from 2000 hours of aerobatic flying and  30 years of dinghy / yacht racing with some of the psychology from car racing. To race 300km against 50 similar flying machines, all starting together  from 4000 feet, was a fantastic experience which I intend to enter into once my training is completed at the Lasham Gliding Center (you should try it!)

Wedding shows usually opens with a heart in the sky followed by an energetic display and finishes with some elegant swooping manoeuvres flown at low power (these are more of an aerial ballet) The show last approximately 8 minutes and the content is weather dependant as strong winds dissipate / distort the smoke (making specific shapes very difficult to control)
